The cloud engineer will be based in Austin, TX and will manage, monitor and support business solutions on cloud infrastructures. This role will provide delivery services to the business when opportunities for cost optimization, scalability, reliability and security arise.
Specific Responsibilities:

• Research and development on the latest virtualization technology, tools, and capabilities
• Provide subject matter expertise in virtual server technology to resolve technical issues, consulting, and hands-on client project support
• Support of the client cloud and infrastructure strategy
• Review operations and business requirements for projects pertaining to server infrastructure with all project teams, management and client services groups for deployment and ongoing operations support
• Operation and support of cloud based information systems across all phases of system engineering, provisioning, operation, support, maintenance, compliance, and decommissioning
• Deploy, manage, and monitor applicable alerting platforms to ensure adequate level of health monitoring for all production systems, including hardware, server components and deployed applications.
• Assists development and Infrastructure as needed
• Research and implement new technologies to improve the environment
• Instrumental in building and maintaining systems in support of and processes within the Continuous Delivery lifecycle
• Provide cross training to other engineers and developers across the organization
• Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications
• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies
• Ensure that our applications and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust
• Evangelize security and be an advocate for keeping customer information secure
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
• Deep knowledge of IaaS platform(s) – primary focus on AWS (possible Azure, Google, VMWare is useful), or experience building high availability or high traffic infrastructure
• Excellent knowledge of AWS Deployment & Management capabilities including CLI, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch and IAM
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Experience building out highly-available public or private cloud infrastructure
• Excellent knowledge with Amazon Web Services APIs
• Experience with Linux and Windows platforms
• Experience with project management methodologies
• Experience in systems tools/protocols
• Working knowledge of logging platforms (Splunk, Logstash, CloudTrail)
• Experience using configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Vagrant
• Basic/Intermediate coding/scripting skills (Python or Java or Bash)
• Ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology
• Demonstrated record in leading and instilling service disciplines and team work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
