The Manager of EDI Systems is based in New York City and supports the functions utilizing EDI throughout their activity lifecycle as well as the Electronic Data Interchange systems that support these functions. This role manages the day to day support activities of all EDI systems and groups as well as contributing to the strategic direction of the IT systems model for this area. This role manages the team members and partners in the EDI area and assists in specifying and maintaining, Dynamics AX, A2000, GXS, Vantage Point and other EDI systems with The Director of Technology Architecture and Delivery and the Supply Chain/Logistics IT Domain Lead.
Job Responsibility
• Provides functional system and process leadership in the EDI area
• Provides tactical input to IT Sales and Supply Chain systems and road mapping, contributes to strategic direction as applicable
• Liaise with Business Process Owners and technical staff to ensure that the EDI systems and the associated connections to the ERP and partner systems/networks are supported and that issues are resolved in a timely manner
• With Director of Supply Chain Systems and Director of Architecture Technology and Delivery, design and develop future state EDI systems and platforms and processes that support MJI’s long term business plans
• Ensure that policies and procedures governing IT systems and development are closely followed
• Work with end-users to analyze, design, test, and implement enhancements and smaller add-on applications
• Work with, and participate on, project teams to develop new EDI processes, systems and partnerships as governed by the IT roadmap
• Manage internal and external functional and technical resources, including direct report(s) to provide support for groups utilizing EDI functions 24x7x365
• Drive out functional system knowledge to Level 1 support for quicker resolution times
• Provide and facilitate level 2 and level 3 support
• Manage the EDI Service Desk queues, assigning, managing and resolving issues to meet and exceed SLA’s
• Prepare functional use cases for new feature requests and enhancements
• Prepare test plans and evaluate test results for application implementations, modifications, and upgrades
• Coordinate the design and testing of application/database system upgrades with users and technical staff
• Develop and update training materials as needed
• Develop internal resources and direct reports as appropriate
• Occasional travel (<20%)

Requirements.
• A Bachelor degree in a related field with more than eight years of experience or an Associate Degree with more than twelve years of experience
• Experience implementing and supporting EDI systems and networks
• Experience integrating with, implementing and/or supporting an ERP system (Dynamics AX/NV/SL/GP, SAP, Oracle,
• Experience with EDI documents; ORD, WAR, FIN, MAN, DEL required
• Experience with EDI vendors and VAN’s
• Experience with sales and supply chain activities
• Experience with 3PL’s and WMS systems
• Understanding of SDLC and working within a controlled framework of corporate IT governance
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
