POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Basic Summary:
Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, configuration, data modeling, project management, and development of DUNDAS and Hyperion systems used for data delivery, planning and decision making by the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support with DUNDAS, and Hyperion systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Business Intelligence Applications for Operations Finance and Corporate & Capital Planning.
Assist with the design and development of enterprise-wide reporting and analytical solutions using a common set of data models.
Design and develop common data model and standard data definition for key components used for reporting across the enterprise. Responsible for data model and report optimization as well as performance tuning.
Develop implementation standards and guidelines. Define and document processes and strategies for existing and future BI solutions. Provide guidance and instruction on best practices related to data.
Perform analysis and design; draft technical specifications, configuration and programming. Write SQL and SQL scripts for programming and systems performance tuning. Test new developed applications by creating test scenarios to determine if the delivered product meets the required specifications.
Create views in BI systems used for analytical purposes.
Provide guidance to the BI Systems Administrator in defining security requirements.
Work directly with business units to define requirements and support various business initiatives and projects as it relates to dashboards and visualizations.
Responsible for the design, development, documentation and quality assurance of enterprise-wide dashboards.
Collaborate with Data Warehouse and Architectural team to provide data requirements to support ongoing BI initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Experience: Minimum 2 years relational database experience, preferably in data warehousing. Thorough experience with SQL and knowledge of PL/SQL on an RDBMS platform a must. Graphical user interface application experience preferred. Experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in the area of data integrity assessment, preferred. Project management experience required.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence systems, and cruise industry operations. Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills to gather and document business requirements and be detail oriented. Verbal and written communication skills to thoroughly prepare specifications make recommendations and effectively work with internal and external members. Knowledge of application support and security. Advanced-level knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel. Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
