BASIC PURPOSE: Candidate will provide technical, procedural support and solutions to enterprise systems that are specific to operations and revenue generating business units. Provides on-call support, system administration, and maintenance of systems. Leads projects and provides the best and most cost effective solutions that meet corporate goals and objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installs, customizes, maintains and implements system software, program product software. Monitors performance and reliability of operating systems and program products to improve computer systems utilization for maximum return on corporate investment.
• Performs daily activities to support business areas including but not limited to query analysis, report development, business analysis, and first level troubleshooting. Installs and configures daily application activities, data warehousing, database backups, interfaces and server builds.
• Implements enterprise solutions and associated hardware for new-builds and system upgrades.
• Performs process analysis for selected business functions identifying process changes for efficient use of software solutions. Coordinates with the vendors to determine feasible solutions and alternatives to business requests.
• Participates in the research, planning and implementation of technical solutions that will meet present and future systems needs within the context of corporate needs and goals. Manages special projects from design to implementation assisting in integration of technologies, and tracking of deliverables.
• Oversees diagnosis and problem determination activities, to resolve any technical problems that may occur. Participates in the formulation and administration of systems standards and procedures. Ensures that technical solutions are consistent within the overall corporate architectural direction.
• Maintains a high level of expertise with systems software, and necessary program products. Seeks the most cost effective alternatives to present to management in order to meet the needs of the corporation.
• Maintains a level of expertise with required application systems to support departmental areas.
• Supports Fidelio SPMS, Micros Point of Sale, MXP, and other enterprise applications as necessary.
• Perform other job related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or related field of study; or equivalent combination of education, skill and work experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years experience in technical infrastructure and software development. At minimum two years of Fidelio Micros system installations. Installation experience must include integration of wireless handheld point of sale devices and extensive knowledge of screen menu creation. Installation experience of Micros Point of Sale versions 3.0 and/or 3.5 required. Oracle 10G and Micros Report Writer experience preferred. Preferred experience with cruise industry related property management operations for shipside and shoreside, plus overall business application systems. User knowledge of Fidelio cruise Property Management System a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Solid applied knowledge of Oracle Database Server and application server methodologies. Basic knowledge of integration with third party systems including, property management systems, point of sale, interactive TV, phone PBX, door lock management, crew management, inventory, weight and balance, and casino systems. Basic Knowledge of Data Warehouse replication methodologies. Knowledge of or ability to learn business operations such as Fleet Operations, Revenue Management and Accounting functions. Strong data analysis skills. Strong PL/SQL scripting skills. Strong report writing skills preferably using Crystal Reports. Ability to independently handle project management, operations and applications design, network design, implementation and support, monitoring applications, documentation and production support. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to work with internal business owners and vendors on system specifications, requirements and recommendations. Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team based environment. Ability to be on call via email, phone and urgent travel needs, when deemed necessary by management, to support shipside enterprise system issues. Ability to travel on very short notice in order to resolve issues onboard. Ability to acquire and maintain a valid Transport Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card along with a Miami Seaport security access card strongly preferred. Ability to travel up to 30% of overall time to domestic and international locations.
