POSITION DESCRIPTION:
DUTIES:
Maintain and provide centralized management of Company’s enterprise level storage infrastructure and act as technical advisor/expert and administrator to guide in prioritizing the workflow and to create perpetual improvement in Enterprise Storage solutions. Manage and analyze low level architecture and offer solutions to storage and switch configurations in Enterprise SAN, paying close attention to reliability, recoverability and high availability needs; provide centralized management of storage resources and support of the Company’s production, test and development requirements for Storage systems, including but not limited to: implementing Best-Practices, Tuning/Performance enhancement, growth analysis and backup/recovery of systems; and perform day-to-day Storage administrator functions of a variety of storage environments comprised of a number of platforms, servers and Storage Array Networks (SAN). Perform SAN configuration and tuning, enterprise backup, SAN Switch management and recovery management and any other task related to the timely provision of storage resources; monitor system performance and configuration management (change control); improve overall efficiency in the usage of storage resources to maximize business productivity by making data continuously available while reducing administration costs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline. Five (5) years post degree experience in systems analysis, including two (2) years’ experience in SAN administration/management. Two years’ experience using SAN management and system monitoring tools such as vmstat or iostat. Symmetrix (VMAX) Solutions Specialist Certification, Version 5.0 or higher.
