We are hiring for 2 Business Technology consultants.
BASIC SUMMARY:
Support global business units in the company with the enhancement and development of the various business systems shipside and shoreside. Serve as a liaison between business unit management and technology colleagues identifying, assessing and documenting business systems requirements. Actively work with the business subunits in Information Technology and operations across the enterprise to properly communicate systems changes and enhancements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify client business unit’s strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement. Analyze current processes to create efficiencies throughout business areas. Prepare documentation, gather and prepare enhancements to develop new system requirements. Seek competitive research and prepare comparisons to present demo of systems to management. Prepare gap analyses and make recommendations for the department. Recommend reporting tools and work with colleagues in other Information Technology units to create reports or to utilize other internal or external technical resources.
Work with specific departmental system application of various development teams in order to ensure accurate translation of business requirements. Lead or participate in regular priority meetings to analyze workflow, understand the business flow and make recommendations. Identify and initiate action to implement new and efficient ways of translating business transactions in the system.
Evaluate requests from business units to determine current and future system capabilities and recommend changes to the system, taking into consideration the global impact of those changes.
Facilitate meetings to gather requirements with the business units using various elicitation techniques including but not limited to: interviewing, modeling and use case development.
Create and follow the change control process and ensure proper methodology and implementation, including but not limited to: training, scripting, communication and implementation.
Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
Lead testing efforts by ensuring that issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
Perform other job related functions as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, business administration, hotel management or related field of study or any equivalent combination of experience and skills and/or 10 years of business analyst experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of experience in business process design or requirement gathering and translating business requirements for development. Experience as Business Analyst with technical skills. Super user of multiple applications used within the enterprise preferred. Travel or hospitality reservation system experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Working knowledge of or ability to learn reservation system and other applications used throughout the enterprise.
Working knowledge of applicable policies and procedures.
Intermediate level skill set of Microsoft Office with special emphasis on Excel and Project. Working knowledge of Star team preferred.
Excellent organizational skills in order to handle multiple tasks.
Must be able to work well under pressure while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining high quality of work.
Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented in order to maintain high standards of accuracy when updating and making changes to master product tables in the system.
Must be able to assist other team members as priorities and deadlines change for the department.
Excellent trouble shooting skills in order to assist with a myriad system issues and answer questions regarding product set-up.
Good written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with team members from different departments.
Critical thinking skills sufficient to identify, assess and recommend technical solutions.
Ability to understand the components of running a successful project within the project’s lifecycle.
Ability to understand business issues and data challenges of business areas and systems.
Ability to consistently deliver high-quality services to their selected business areas.

Ability to gather detailed requirements and provide appropriate translation to applications.

Ability to plan strategic revenue increasing and cost cutting programs, projects and initiatives. Must be able to provide options to business areas when needed to achieve business goals.
Must be available to work during off hours, weekends and holidays, according to business demands.
