This senior position develops, configures, codes, tests, and debugs complex programs developed using Infor Lawson development tools. Works with business users to conduct business analysis and define applications requirements and develop solutions according to company and department standards. Tests and develops documentation of Lawson applications and update those as necessary.
Location: Ft. Lauderdale
Principle Accountabilities & Responsibilities :
- Develop/maintain Infor Lawson 9.x/10.x ERP applications (Finance, HR, Supply Chain and Procurement)
- Perform complex business analysis and develop/document business requirements
- Prepare detailed technical specifications based on business requirements
- Work with DBA to develop sound database designs when applicable
- Develop applications according to specifications while adhering to best practice and appropriate standards, procedures and techniques
- Develop workflow applications using Lawson ProcessFlow or Infor Process Automation (IPA)
- Develop system interfaces including data mapping, building conversion programs and creating procedures across multiple internal and/or external systems
- Prepare requirements and specifications documents & test plans as required
- Develop applications to interface information across multiple internal and third-party systems
- Develop User Acceptance Test plans, perform unit/system testing and help validate UA results
- Coordinate with Applications Support on deployment of new/changed ERP applications
- Develop ad hoc reports using standard reporting tools (e.g. technical reporting tools, Client-based report tools such as ReportSmith, Crystal Reports, Lawson Add-ins)
- Act as technical lead on major projects/upgrades/conversions
Experience, Knowledge & Skills Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in developing/customizing/maintaining Lawson applications using the Infor Lawson CASE/4GL Tool and Microfocus COBOL development environment
- Strong technical background in one or more Lawson Suites (Financial, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement)
- Experience developing UNIX shell scripts, Windows .BAT files, Perl scripting or PowerShell scripting
- Experience in Lawson conversions and upgrades
- Experience working with relational database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server)
- User-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills and proven analytical ability
- Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
- Must be self-directed, equally able to work individually or with a team
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Motivated to keep abreast of new technologies and ability to learn new skills quickly
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision
- Ability to work extended hours
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Must be available to occasional local and international traveling
Other desired skills, but not required:
- Functional background in Lawson HR/PR Modules
- Experience with Infor Lawson 10 (technical and/or functional)
- Knowledge of SQL for reporting/data analysis
- Technical experience developing Lawson ProcessFlow or Process Automation (IPA) applications
- Experience developing/customizing forms using Lawson Design Studio
- Experience with Lawson Business Intelligence tools (Smart Notifications, Dashboards, etc.)
Academic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 6+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
