JOB TITLE: Miami Systems Specialist
Positions Responsibilities:
- Responsible for applications and activities with Peoplesoft and related systems:
- Technically/Functionally proficient in PeopleSoft Financials/SCM Modules (General Ledger, Payables) and HRMS Modules (HR, Payroll)
- Excellent analysis skills to prevent customizations in PeopleSoft applications – assists determining best processes using existing functionality of systems
- Thorough knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Data Management Tools, SQR, COBOL Processes, Crystal-Reports, nVision Reports
- Proficient in PeopleTools – Application Designer, Application Engine, Upgrade Assistant, Process Scheduler, EDI Manager, Security Administrator, Object Security, Application Reviewer, Import Manager, Query, Tree Manager, Process Monitor and Report Books
- Development experience on Peoplesoft upgrades, interfacing, conversion, data migration and reporting
- Provides production support – Oversees diagnosis and problem determination activities, to resolve any technical problems that may occur. “On call” support access will be required to bring production systems to an operational state and maintain KPIs.
- Maintains a high level of expertise in application systems, infrastructure and new/upcoming technologies. Must attend training classes to stay current with new technologies to support the business.
- Manages the continuing review of present systems in order to determine level of effectiveness, required modifications and/or replacement in light of corporate needs and requirements
- Participates in the on-going review and analysis of equipment and software. This takes into consideration capacity, performance and projected useful life in light of forecasted demand and technological developments
- Participates in the prioritization and approval of projects, by maintaining plans by project
- Responsible (as necessary) for the following IT activities:
- Microsoft .NET development and support – including Freestyle Connect sub-systems
- Experience with Microsoft products associated with .NET including ASP, C#, and VB
- Support of MAPS, Global Max, Tecknorisk, plus other enterprise systems as deemed necessary
- Provides status reports to management on business and technical solutions
- Participates and insures development and implementation of application systems including programming, documentation, operational procedures and testing activities to the satisfaction of management
- Reviews existing practices and makes recommendations to management on the use of existing systems to improve productivity, reduce costs, or provide passenger service upgrades.
Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years experience in software support and development. Preferred experience on shipside and shoreside business application systems for cruise line.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Knowledge of Peoplesoft ERP systems and .NET development highly desired. Strong PC skills. Additional experience in some or all of the following areas is required: project management, operations and applications design, network design, implementation and support, monitoring applications, documentation context diagramming. Written and verbal communications skills sufficient to document and effectively express solutions to all team members and external contacts. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
