The Network Administrator is based in Austin, TX with frequent travel to remote offices on the west coast.
Position is responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software systems and computers for the entire network. Will be technically involved in the maintenance, monitoring and administration of servers, PC’s, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP, smartphones, software deployment, email, off site backups, security updates and patches as well as a vast array of additional technologies inclusive of both hardware and software.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Install and maintain network hardware and software at regional offices.
•Setup local computers and review network cabling with wiring contractors.
•Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users
•Evaluate and modify system’s performance
•Determine network and system requirements
•Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
•Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations for local offices.
•Train users on the proper use of hardware and software
•Assists in coordinating special projects
•Monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges
•Installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances
•Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Storage Area Network (SAN)
•Establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security
•Researches and evaluates new technologies that will advance the level of service to both internal and external customers
•Assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support;
•Recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services
•Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts
•Manages anti-spam and anti-virus servers
•Assists in the mobile device setup and maintenance
•Maintains and monitors VoIP systems.
•Support Windows Remote Desktop Services for external users who are connecting from all parts of the country
•Be available for extended hours support. While this is not frequent, staff is located across the United States working all hours of the day with needed access to systems.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 years experience in networking and support
• MCSE and networking experience
• Expert experience with Cisco routers/switches/security devices
• Expert ability to develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, Perl, and Ruby
• Expert supporting TCP/IP protocol
• Experience with SAN equipment & related concepts
• Experience with Linux servers
• Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including Microsoft Windows
• Certificates & Licenses: Cisco CCNA Certification required.
• Manage contractors at remote locations and deliver on project deadlines.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
• Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
• Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, etc.
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Ability to communicate effectively with users, peers, management, and executives
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
