We are seeking a Lead developer with Gaming experience. Position is based in Fort Lauderdale.
As the Lead Game Developer, you will be responsible for working with a team of designers and developers under the direction of the COO. You will be responsible for the back-end and front-end architecture, implementation, and deployment of many features for our alpha and upcoming titles. Responsibilities include:
* Full Stack Development: As the lead software engineer, you’ll be expected to drive the development of the server and client code for game features; this will include all database and data model development and maintenance
* Architecture: As our games expand, so will the codebase. You’ll be expected to keep an eye on how the codebase is growing and propose changes / additions to keep it manageable yet support new features
* Security: Develop technology to improve security, data protection, and to prevent cheating / hacking / fraud; Interact with payment gateways and their respective API’s to process, record, and log financial transactions at PCI compliance standards
* Team Building: Build the internal team as design and development roles are internalized by screening and bringing in qualified candidates; provide long-term direction, goals, and constructive critiques of their work while maintaining a philosophy of delivering quality on time
* Performance: Deploy a scalable infrastructure to support hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users
* Monitoring: Track, log and maintain our public infrastructure at a 99.9999% uptime
* Marketing: Drive the technical development and maintenance of white label and affiliate marketing models
* Reporting: Set up and develop appropriate audience measurement and tracking systems; work with team to evolve design decisions based on quantitative data, A/B test results, and customer development
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in computer science who consistently comes up with creative solutions and new ideas. The ideal candidate will have:
* BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of industry programming experience
* 3+ years of Ruby > 1.9 development
* Extensive experience parsing data (JSON & XML)
* Strong knowledge of front end standards such as JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, & HTML5
* Thorough grasp of MVC architecture and design patterns
* Extensive knowledge of object oriented programming
* Familiar with Open Source Frameworks (Bootstrap, SaSS, CoffeeScript, Ruby Gems)
* Solid knowledge of Heroku & PosgreSQL > 9.0
* Experience with RoR 4.0 MVC framework
* Know how to work in a team (and enjoy it)
