Citrix Engineer
Job Description
We seek an experienced Citrix Administrator to join our growing IT Business Infrastructure group. In this position you will be part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced and complex network environment. You will need to have strong knowledge of the Windows Operating Systems with terminal services in a Citrix Metaframe Presentation Server /Xen App.
In addition:
¥ Must be able to leverage the environment in order to maximize business efficiency, while matching the direction of the business.
¥ Must understand the advanced concepts of Citrix Server Farms, Zones, and Licensing.
¥ Strong background with scheduling automated packages using Citrix Installation Manager.
¥ Must understand the concept of high availability and how to implement it in a Citrix environment.
¥ Extensive experience needed with respect to troubleshooting and configuring printing in a Citrix environment using both the Universal Print Driver (UPD) and native drivers.
¥ Experience with Apache HTTP server and Apache Tomcat server running on a Windows environment.
¥ Experience with budgeting in a large IT environment required.
¥ Must be able to configure and optimize Citrix Web Interface 3.0+ and Program Neighborhood Agent 3.0+.
¥ Strong understanding of SSL VPN technology and how it incorporates Citrix Metaframe.
¥ Needs to understand the entire product line of Citrix and how new technology may benefit the environment.
¥ Knowledge of other technology (SQL, Notes/Domino, Oracle, network, firewall, Windows, Linux) is required in order to assist with troubleshooting application and back-end issues.
¥ Must possess proven experience running non-certified Citrix applications on a large Citrix environment.
¥ Must be able to work cooperatively with a project manager in order to schedule and implement projects.
¥ Must prove ability to manage and designate highly-skilled technical resources with project tasks.
¥ Needs to estimate long-term growth and plan the environment accordingly.
¥ Advises the IT architecture group in the capacity of a Citrix technical resource.
¥ Completes capital appropriation requests for hardware, licensing, etc.
¥ Must be able to communicate issues and ideas with both a highly technical as well as a non-technical audience.
¥ Required to work at least 1 Sunday per month for system maintenance.
¥ Must be able to travel to remote sites in order to evaluate and optimize the user experience for performance and usability.
Required Experience
• Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA) certification required. Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field is preferred, but 5+ years supporting a Citrix environment with both internal as well as external users is required. • Microsoft Certified System Engineer preferred, but not required. • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required. • Ability to be self-motivated and manage time without supervision. • Ability to meet project as well as helpdesk work order deadlines.
