POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preliminary scope analysis for all projects: review requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure requests are in line with business objectives on projects.
Design, build, test, implement and administer business rules in development environment in order to support new business objectives or improve system effectiveness.
Build a strong understanding of the Use Cases and their relationship with business rules.
Support the deployment of system upgrades requiring business rules changes and administration. Analyze processes, develop or modify business rules, develop and document test plans
Work with Revenue Management and other business groups in order to identify potential solutions or assess the feasibility of new business rules. Identify business requirements, analyze processes and make appropriate recommendations to support the business need.
Adhere to project and team standards for coding and testing each unit of work. Apply business and IT knowledge as a basis to drive optimal technology and business solutions by using the company’s standard change control policy.
Assist teammates with assignments as needed to ensure the entire team meets its deadlines and objectives.
Provide production support; oversee diagnosis and problem determination activities to resolve any technical problems that may occur with business rules.
Develop new business rule templates as necessary to maximize quality control and data entry efficiency.
Identify areas of improvement by conducting periodic interviews with business users to gain insight to application inefficiencies.
Investigate and correct application-related issues as necessary by using troubleshooting techniques and other available resources.
Gather documentation and conduct training sessions as needed to keep users current of changes in application functions, procedures and/or new functionality.
Perform other job related functions as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent with relevant background and skills.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years’ experience with business systems analysis and rules development within the Information Technology field.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Hands on experience with a high level programming language and/or business rules engines. Experience in systems and software development life cycle including design, development, coding, and testing.
