We are hiring a Programmer Analyst based in Seattle, WA.
Description of Position
The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing 40-50 file-based interfaces between our ERP system (Navision 2009R2), and those of our state government client and 15 external organizations. Scheduled file integration between systems is accomplished using MQSoftware’s Data Flow Studio, custom integration applications, and secure FTP file transfer.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Oversee troubleshooting of application and interface issues reported in production and non-production environments, involving the use of SQL Server Extended Events, Catalog Views, Trace, Dynamic Management Objects, etc.
Utilize WCF Trace and Process Monitor tracing and other analysis at the application tier
Use Splunk log analysis tool to collect and analyze high volumes of machine generated data, to review/correlate Event Log, XML and text log files for actionable steps
Monitor batch job interfaces and execution across all environments (development, test, UAT, and production)
Understand when simple restarts are required in order to get a system up and running quickly, and when batch job failures require more detailed analysis and interface remediation
Use Sys Admin and SQL skills to participate in interface remediation efforts
Coordinate with Applications and Operations teams on interface-related issues
Act as primary point of contact for interface partners listed above
Gain expertise in all interface partner requirements and business processes
Perform impact analysis of application changes (service requests, change requests, etc.)
Troubleshoot production issues, sometimes outside of normal business hours
Work with Business Analysts and perform requirements analysis as needed
Qualifications
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
2-3 years of experience establishing/monitoring job execution for IT systems
2 years of experience performing systems analysis
Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, Transact-SQL
Experience creating automation scripts and enterprise scheduling (e.g. Cisco Tidal)
Experience with ETL and data integration issues (e.g. validation and cleaning)
Familiarity using Splunk for log analysis (or other log analysis tools)
Experience with Microsoft development environment: TFS, Visual SourceSafe, etc.
Demonstrated experience working within a distributed support organization
Demonstrated experience working with external and internal stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office suite (including Visio)
