Vice President of Engineering based in Atlanta, GA with a promising Startup company.
We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead ongoing product development and enhancements for our client. The successful candidate will sit on the Management Committee and utilize their knowledge of our organizational priorities to create structure, timelines and goals for our team of developers and engineers and lead that team to the successful attainment of those goals. He/she will be responsible for the hiring, retention and performance management of those individuals. In coordination with peers, the VP of Engineering is accountable for all technology decisions on future products and for developing schedules for new product development. The candidate will establish processes and best practices for product development and testing. This position is responsible for leading the creation of Functional Requirements Documents. He/she will collaborate with the Vice President of Manufacturing on new product introduction and sustaining products after launch.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience leading departments of hardware and software engineers, including personnel management, with a strong network for access to technical talent and experience hiring that talent.
• 3+ years of project management experience, including development practices such as waterfall, agile and scrum.
• Moderate experience putting together full stack scalable back end architectures.
• 5+ years of experience with firmware development using C, C++, and Python, writing custom algorithms, developing drivers to integrate components such as pumps, and touchscreens, and using communication protocols through I2C, UART, SPI, GPIO.
• Familiarity with mobile and web software development including Android, iOS, and Ruby on Rails.
• Familiarity with Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
• 3+ years of experience with software QA testing and procedures.
• Basic understanding of hardware engineering, preferably including fluidics, mechanical design, cooling and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design.
• 5+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
