The enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) was established to drive alignment of project and program work to corporate strategy, establish and ensure appropriate governance, perform program and project management functions, and measure the impact of initiatives. The PMO also serves as a Center of Expertise by equipping the organization with methodologies, standards, tools, consultation, and coaching to increase the capability of the organization in the area of project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly project manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives/projects across multiple functions and work streams, for example:
• Clinical outcome and cost management
• Organization design, asset/resource allocation, and efficiency
• Business development
Support executive sponsors in delivery against strategic objectives as follows:
• Improve alignment of strategic objectives to organizational initiatives, resource allocation, and budgets
• Drive agile prioritization of initiatives
• Maintain balance between scope, resources, and timelines
• Effectively measure impact of initiatives on strategy execution using clear baseline and target metrics
Develop and manage portfolio roadmap and integrated project plans across initiatives and work streams and deliver the following:
• Transparent reporting of project/program status, milestones, dependencies, issues/risks, resource allocation, budget, root cause analysis, and executive interventions required
• Objective, fact-based recommendations to executives via reports and live presentations/meetings
Adapt and apply best practice process and project management approaches (e.g., PMBOK, Agile/Scrum, Continuous Process Improvement), to meet business program objectives
Utilize and promote specific PMO toolkit and templates (e.g., project charter, project kick-off, status report, meeting agenda, issue/risk logs, lessons learned) and capture project documentation as needed throughout the project lifecycle using a hybrid waterfall/Agile approach
Provide consistent, clear, and timely communication of initiative goals, tasks and progress/status to project teams, sponsor, and executives
• Facilitate and lead daily project meetings with work stream leads and weekly or bi-weekly steering committee meetings with executive sponsor(s)
• Provide regular written updates (minimum weekly) on project status to business owners and executive sponsors
Utilize problem solving, project management, and change management best practices daily to:
• Keep projects on target
• Resolve initiative issues, risks, and obstacles through appropriate use of project management tools and methods
• Ensure alignment of organization-wide processes, policies, programs, documentation, interactions, etc. with project objectives

EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business administration or related required, masters’ degree preferred
• 12+ years’ professional experience, with a minimum 8 years’ experience in a project/program management capacity across business functions
• PMP certification required with expert knowledge of project/program management tools and activities including but not limited to: project scope/charter, business requirements, work breakdown structure (project plan), issues/risks log, status reports, and steering committee (purpose, facilitation, action-orientation)
• Working understanding and application of Agile methodology with Scrum Master certification a plus
• Mastery level Microsoft Office skills: PowerPoint – graphics, master slide formatting, notes development, and advanced storyboarding. Word – reference and table creation, master formatting, and document structuring. Excel – tracking, sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, pivot tables, etc.
• Mastery level Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, or other project management software – work stream, task, dependencies, predecessors, Gantt, etc.
